Oh, hey there! I’m Julie and I like to cook. I live in San Antonio and have a little cat. She’s very soft. I think cats are more wonderful than most things.
This blog is really just a recipe blog – I never could quite understand the whole LiveJournal thing. But, I do talk a bit about myself, mostly about things I hate. Or love. I’m pretty emphatic. The food I like to cook is loosely that whole Paleo thing. I’m real big into figuring out what is the best way for me to eat, hence my many years long vegan stint.
I’ve found out that I’m pretty flexible, which I feel fortunate about, coming from a family with some Crohn’s people in it, but that I definitely have felt my best eating this way. Overall, I think this broad-based ancestral eating concept makes the most sense of anything I’ve heard or read about, but I think people should definitely experiment within its parameters. Individuals can be pretty different from one another.
You can email me at my personal email if you’d like, juliakcampbell@me.com! You can tell me your hopes and dreams.
And what a great cook you are! Thanks for sharing so many great recipes on Chowstalker!!
Thank you so much, I’m glad you like my recipes! And thanks for creating Chowstalker!
Just picked up your blog. Love the photos and ideas. Really great stuff.
Thanks!! omg I want to make everything on your blog. Super, super cool.
Thanks so much for reading and for the really nice words. I have been move towards paleo (or paleo lite) lately and your site is a great resource. Are you shooting with all natural light?
Oh, you’re welcome and thank you! Yeah, the stuff I make isn’t overtly paleo as in like making cauliflower rice with everything, or like trying to pretend zucchini julienne is just like noodles. Not that there’s anything wrong with eating zucchini like that, just eat it for what it is. There is so much good food out there, and mostly you just have to omit a couple ingredients and you’re fine. No need to pretend like they’re in there.
And yeah, just natural light. I have a diffuser, reflector, and a flash that I got hand-me-downed recently, but I haven’t used it yet. It makes for me cooking at really interesting times…
Wow. I NEVER reply to these things, but I decided to read your notes before I closed out the recipe for ‘Coconut Milk Indian Chicken’ and found myself laughing out loud. I don’t want to be on this computer any longer than I have too, but clicked on the ‘about me’ for the heck of it. So, we, my cat and I, chuckled at your bio. Cheers! Keep on truckin’ girl!!! See ya in Silt.
Very cool, just found your blog by Googling “paleo butternut squash soup.” Can’t wait to read more!
